constant vibration on front tire
Switched to Commander 3's from 2's due to the higher silica compound, was excited about the additional grip capacity it would provide. After a thorough winter service, tires, wheel bearings, fork and swing arm. I was looking forward to getting on the road. From this first moment I could feel a buzzing in my grips, I told myself this would go away after a brief breaking. This was not the case, the vibration has been consistent since the tires were installed, it is prevalent when riding straight up, it goes away while turning or doing a slalom type maneuver returning as you cross the centerline of the tire.. it has the sensation of a wheel bearing going bad.. tire has been reballenced which was fine and a second set of new wheel bearings installed to remove that from the equation. Problem still exists. Saving money now to go back to the Commander 2.as I don't have confidence in this tire while riding
Vibration Issues - Tires Should Be Recalled
While these tires do have good grip, any positive in the tires is massively overshadowed by the terrible issues causing vibration that transmits through the entire front end of the bike. From 45-50 MPH I get an intense "buzzing" sensation through the handlebars, severe enough that it also causes the fairing on my Road Glide to vibrate and make noise. At various other speeds you can feel vibrations in the floor boards, seat, etc as well. Apparently this is a known issue, but Michelin just keeps making the tires. I was initially told that it would go away after a break in period, but 3000 miles later it has only gotten worse. I've spoken with at least 6 other riders in person that are experiencing the exact same problem, including a dealership mechanic I had look at my bike because I thought perhaps the issue was my wheel bearings going bad. Michelin - shame on you for not taking this tire off the market until you solve the problem!

Surprisingly wears excellent on a springer front not so much the rear
The front tire has worn better than any other tire I've had in 90,000 mi for the rear though I don't get any more than 4500 miles I have a 200/55r17 the 90 16 front. For some strange reason this one also picked up more nails I had two flats throughout the tire life one single tire
Back tyre on my front wheel
I ordered a new set of commander 3 för my vl 1500 here in Sweden. Front 150/80 71 H; back 180/70-15 MC 76 H. The owner of the workshop was to mount them the week efter I placed the order. Thanks to your comments I double checked if I took the right decision the same day I talked to him and to my surprise I realized that the best MC specialist in the area was to mount a bak tyre (150/80 B16 77H) on my front wheel. So I told him to go to hell when he tried to refused to cancel my ordered. I have no idea if that is the reason for the vibrations problem some of you have but it sure is worth to check it. I cannot rate så I put 4 stars just to be published
Mich Commander 3 Horrible tire
Used the Commander 2 for last 4 years , had to purchase the 3 immediate roar on the frt , when you are in a curve it's gone bike straight up it's awful it not the bike either 2019 Street Glide 14,000 miles
Commander 3 130/60-19 vibration and noisy front tire
I am currently working through the issue with Michelin. Issue started at mile 1. Warranty said it could be the static strip? based on seeing it with other customers. After reviewing the Harley forums the issue seems common. The tire will need to be replaced its that bad.
Commander III Cruiser
I’m experiencing a harmonic resonance ( felt & heard vibration) from my front tire between 35-40 mph. This isn’t a balance issue and it concerns me. My motorcycle is meticulously maintained, and it only has 8,000 miles on it, so bearings aren’t an issue either. Other than this issue these tires are fantastic; they handle better, brake better and give the bike a lighter feel. I even used a Michelin tube.
Michelin commander 3 front tire howls
I have a michelin commander 2 on the rear of my HD street glide. So I had a Michelin Commander 3 installed on the front. Since installing the front tire I started noticing a howling noise that goes away as i corner the bike but returns when riding in a straight line. No bearing issues with the front end or rear end. The only thing I can attribute the noise to is the new commander 3 front tire for some reason.
Long life commando 3
I am on my 2 nd commando 3 rear tire on my Harley. The 1st commando 3 came with a rebate, and I liked it. It gave me 18,000 miles. I got a little nervous and could of gotten more miles out of it, so I ordered my 2. I now have 22,000 on it, while my order is in back order status. I am going to ride on it until my new tire comes in. I think I can get between 25,000 & 30,000 if it doesn’t come in. That said I like the tire. On the other hand my front tire got 40,000 but was bald on 1/2 of the tread. The installer thought I may have used it on an oval tract the way it had worn. I did not use it on a tract, and have concluded it had a manufacture blemish.
