Shorter braking time on wet surfaces

Thanks to new XST+ sipe technology, the MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 offers a 17% shorter braking time than its nearest rival* on wet surfaces, and 24% shorter on extremely slippery surfaces such as white traffic lines and pedestrian crossings.

* Braking tests on wet surfaces and extremely slippery wet surfaces performed by Dekra in July 2013 with new tyres and tyres already used for 3,000 miles, comparing the MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 with the DUNLOP Sportmax Roadsmart II, METZELER Roadtec Z8 Interact M/O, PIRELLI Angel GT Gran Tourismo, and BRIDGESTONE Battlax Sport Touring T30F sized 120/70 R 17 M/C 58W (front) and 180/55 ZR17 M/C 73W (back).

20% greater longevity*

With a rubber derived from 2CT technology that’s harder in the middle than on the shoulder, the MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 lasts 20% longer than the MICHELIN Pilot Road 3. Thanks to its MICHELIN XST+ sipes, it benefits from chamfers which limit uneven wear and tear.

* According to internal tests performed in 2013.

I have a 2022 Kawasaki Z900 currently. I upgraded my tyre's at the 12,000km service to Michelin Pilot Road 4 and am pleasantly surprised at the little wear to date. I live in Switzerlands Alp region with extreme corners and I can tell you these tyre's hold in the corners like magic on very wet and dry roads. Never have I felt slippage at high lean angles. On the freeways.... perfect handling. I have been riding big bikes for 35 years and I am very, very happy with this tyre and will recommend these to any rider who wants good safe high performance treads. I am at 22,000km and the tyre's have worn but very minimally indeed compared with the other brands I've used over the years.

Fantastic tyre's!

I've been riding for 45 years and been using the Pilot Road tyres since they were released. I find them to a fantastic all round tyre, inspiring confidence, especially in the wet. I am a sports touring rider and do plenty of spirited rides through the twisties, wet and dry and they have never let me down. My current bike came without PR's and I can't wait for them to wear out so I can fit Pilot Roads again.

Bought these Pilot 4's to replace the factory tyres on my GSXS 1000. Had to replace the factory ones at 5000km. Th Michelins have provided great grip wet or dry and so far have lasted 12000km with still some to go, still get great grip in all conditions at near end of life. will be replacing them with Michelins again.

Great Tyres

This tire exceeded my expectations for road use . The level of grip and responsive control on extreme angles is just stunning. Straight line take off ,no traction control on , is a beautiful experience.

This is the top of the class
